The MacArthur Inn located in scenic Narrows was originally named "Narrows Hotel" in 1940. In late 1941, a naming contest was held and President Roosevelt recommended to Senator W. C. Caudill to summons Major L. W. Chambers his choice to let this hotel be the first hotel in the USA to be named after General MacArthur. Several famous people have made the trip to hunt and fish in the picturesque mountains and streams here. John Wayne, Audie Murphy, Mickey mantle and Michael Landon are among the most notable. Now after years of neglect and disrepair, the hotel has been completely restored to its original grandeur and actuated with time period furnishings.

The hotel has 28 rooms for guests, each decor is different and all nicely decorated. All room rates include a chef prepared, healthy country breakfast. The eggs are from open range chickens and the honey is locally gathered. Our jams, jellies and apple butter are all locally prepared. All meats are organic and the meal is complimented with fresh biscuits and pastries.

The dining area is open for seminars, meetings and receptions from noon until 9:00 p.m. daily. One quad of the Inn is located separately to allow privacy from the rest of the Inn. This quad can be rented for groups to attend meetings, reunions, receptions and sport excursions.

Several nights a week piano music of different disciplines "1923 Vintage" will top the evening before retirement. An outside pit BBQ will be held each Saturday with music in the warm months ar least one weekend a month.
